Lourdes Central Catholic has an amazing opportunity to receive $1 Million Dollars in Matching Funds! Through December 31, 2026, a generous anonymous donor will match every gift to Lourdes, up to $1 million. Together, we share in the important work of forming young people in faith, knowledge, and service. WE WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE CASH DONATIONS TO BE USED FOR TEH DIEAPER DRIVE. This way diapers may be purchased in the size needed. Buying in bulk also is cheaper. Diapers are given away each week at the Knights of Columbus Food Pantry in Nebraska City to families in need. Thank you!
Starting January 1, 2027, taxpayers can make contributions to scholarship granting organizations like Opportunity Scholarships of Nebraska and qualify for a federal income tax credit. Keep your tax dollars in Nebraska, and give hope to local kids... it's a no-brainer!
How does the Education Freedom Tax Credit work?
Using the Education Freedom Tax Credit, taxpayers can receive a credit of up to $1,700 (or $3400 for joint filers) for contributions made to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) that would otherwise have been owed to the government in Federal income taxes. A tax credit reduces the amount of Federal income tax owed dollar-for-dollar (unlike a deduction, which decreases taxable income). The tax credit is available to any individual who is a citizen or resident of one of the States or the District of Columbia and makes qualified contribution(s) to SGO(s) during the taxable year.
Through OSN, you can designate a significant portion of your gift to support students attending Lourdes Central Catholic, rather than a specific child. For Lourdes families, these scholarships can help reduce tuition costs and make Catholic education more affordable, giving more children the opportunity to learn, grow in faith, and develop their God-given gifts. ANNUAL KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS “TOOTSIE ROLL SUNDAY” WEEKEND OCT 24/25: Free will donations are collected every year on Tootsie Roll Sunday by our Knights of Columbus to help people with intellectual disabilities. Thank you for your continued support.

Cemetery Walk The 4th Annual “Back From The Dead” Cemetery Walk will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 3880 L Street, Lincoln, on October 23, 24, 26, 27, and November 1, 2026. ~ Confirmation Practice on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 5:30pm in the church. Students, please bring your sponsor to this practice.
~ Students being Confirmed and their sponsors, please arrive on Saturday, Oct. 31 by 9:15am. Students will meet in The Abbey. Sponsors will go to the church.
~A reception for students being Confirmed will be held in The Abbey following Mass on Oct. 31. The Bishop will also be available for pictures with those being Confirmed following Mass. Please bring your family and guests to the reception.
